After a small misunderstanding between the St Jacinto islanders and the Indian Navy was cleared the Indian national flag was hoisted on the island putting a full stop to the controversy. However, the CM Pramod Sawant should have done a thorough study before branding the islanders as anti-nationals on social media. By doing so, the CM gave a communal colour and politicised this small issue to distract Goans from his own political failures. The CM should therefore tender an unconditional apology to the locals. Let the CM be reminded that the fascist right-wing organization namely RSS of which he is a close member had reportedly refused to hoist the Indian national flag almost for 52 years at its headquarters in Nagpur. The CM needs to answer this first before branding the St Jacinto islanders, who are still fighting to protect their ancestral lands and who have been hoisting the national flag every year like true-blooded Indians on Independence Day, as anti-nationals in Goa.
