CM’s statement on rape incident in bad taste

Chief Minister Pramod Sawant seems has accepted his incompetence when it comes to protecting his people by blaming the girls and their parents for the Benaulim rape incident. What does his statement imply? Does he mean when 14-year-old girls stay or roam on the beach at night, males have a fundamental right to behave like roadside stray dogs and openly rape them? And, what about all the homeless girls and women who have to live and sleep on the streets? Where should they go if the police cannot guarantee safety of girls and women at night? Or will the CM also start blaming their parents too if such horrible incidents occur with them in Goa? Our patriarchal society is the root cause of producing rapists and they should be dealt with first. I personally feel that the faces of all the alleged rapists henceforth should not be covered or hidden with a cloth but should be openly shown in public (including on social media and newspapers by way of photographs) to humiliate them for life and to scare others from committing such heinous crimes.
