Condition of roads plays key role in averting accidents

Practically every English  daily sensationalises  in graphic details gory accident scenes and the victims. The passersby too record the scene and publish it in the social media.  Passersby don't try to identify the victim and inform relatives, nor attempt to provide first aid or remove expeditiously to a hospital  and save precious lives. Often the passersby play safe and try to avoid harassment by police and courts. In the media, analysis should be undertaken to help prevent injury and loss of life in future; the poor road conditions;  improper lighting; lack of warning signs; speed breakers; speed limits;  maintenance of vehicles; narrow roads with bends; riding under influence of alcohol,  etc should be the focus of concern. The stretch of NH 66 from Canacona to Cuncolim is naturally prone to serious accidents. It should have been the priority as it is less populated and urgent. Instead the emphasis  is placed on where roads are in far better shape. Conditions of the roads contributes very significantly  to accidents more than any other factors.
