Cops turn blind eye to attack on couple at Bastora

A shocking incident was reported at Bastora junction, wherein a pregnant woman and her husband (both of whom operate a shawarma van at the same junction) were brutally attacked by around 25 road-side local goons with iron rods, wooden sticks, choppers and knives late Monday evening. According to the complaint, the attack stemmed from a minor argument earlier in the day over a parking issue. Now, what is most shocking in this whole entire matter is that though the victim husband has identified and given the names of all the 25 attackers at the Mapusa Police Station, the police has still not bothered to arrest even one person from the above group so far. Just because most of them are connected with some politicians from the same area? I think that the police should stop maligning their own image by protecting these goons involved in the above attack and instead should get them arrested at the very earliest & also get them mercilessly thrashed inside the police station.
