Courts should help activists fighting for the environment

On the recent visit by Chief Justice DY Chandrachud to Goa, I appreciate his comment on people needing to living in harmony with nature and tackling climate change.  But is he really unaware  of the massive destruction currently taking place in Goa under the BJP government, where hills, forests, wildlife, waterbodies, thousands of trees etc are being destroyed in Goa and so much of green area being converted into settlements, mainly to favour mega real estate developers? Can the Supreme Court Court or High Court also assist by taking suo moto action; instead of allowing the pressure only on Goan genuine  activists?  For example, the  “massacre” of the Reis Magos hill cut by developer  DLF,  is clearly visible to all and this in my view was a very good case for suo moto action by the courts. Another case for suo moto action was that of the Goa Chief Secretary Goel (now transferred) who was recently found to be clearly involved in a massive land scam at Aldona.  I kindly request the CJI  to please help people fighting genuinely for the environment and take more action and timely orders on climate change, environment.
