The tragic circumstances in which our Candolim brother Joy Fernandes and his two dear children departed earlier this month was heart breaking. That the police have not been able to crack this case is further distressing. Joy’s grey laptop which was his personal one has to date not been found, so also his mobile. Was his personal diary found? On December 19 he visited his sister at Ponda and also had a last meeting with her on January 1. Did the police care to record her statement? The sister reportedly called Joy on January 7 morning but he did not answer nor respond to her whatsapp message. Why was the dog squad not used though it had arrived and was there? Did the cops record the statements of the housemaid and the other members of the household? Very disturbing is the fact that when Joy’s body was found his blood was fresh and his skull was dented on the left side. Did Joy’s niece see him on that fateful day around 4 pm? The police investigation leaves more questions than answers.
