Emergency then, versus 'undeclared emergency'

BJP honchos have gone to town shouting from the rooftops about the Emergency imposed @ 5 decades back by Indira Gandhi. Observing June 25 as the darkest day in post independence India they bellowed on about crushing of fundamental rights, tyranny,  torture, curtailment of freedom. It is not hidden from anyone that the past 9 years of BJP rule has been an undeclared state of Emergency imposed on the people where every conceivable citizen's right has been taken away by the government, dissent is crushed with an iron hand, the rabid right wing flourishes, communal cauldrons are stirred vigorously and the minorities are demonised. Prime Minister Modi doesn't find time to visit a mosque or hug a Muslim leader in India but visits mosques in Egypt and the UAE, embracing the community heads there. People would recall that in 2011, Modi  the then CM of Gujarat refused to accept a skull cap from an eminent maulana in India at a public function organised to honour him. It is not democracy that constitutes their DNA as the Sanghi's claim,  it is hypocrisy that runs in their veins.
