Artificial Intelligence (AI) has tremendous potential, but in India due to the large population and requirement for providing employment being a huge responsibility it would be prudent to be very judicious in deployment of AI so that jobs are protected so as to cater to the huge population.
It should be stressed that even if mundane and routine tasks are automated a significant percentage jobs will be lost. It may be recalled that years back, genetic engineering was being considered for even control of diseases, but very prudent use of genetic engineering and its restrictive use has ensured that nature is still being sought to be paramount.
In the interest of India's requirement it would be wise to curtail the use of AI though research and development. Judicious use of AI would be the best way forward. It is a must that man should master machines.
