Find ways to tackle issue of waterlogging in rains

This is with reference to the report, "Panaji sinks in heavy rain test - The Goan Everyday June 28, 2023." What can one say, looking at Panaji the capital city, in this pathetic state; the picture says it all. So, how smart can we get? In the process of making Panaji a smart city, or for that matter any other city in the country, we seem to be becoming dumb. It's like our 'smart phones', a wrong click, a small  mistake and you see a different picture on your screen. Flooded roads in Panaji are a common sight in cities like Mumbai but then we have the  the rain Gods to blame for sending down too much rain than we can handle. Another report in your newspaper shows the Aquem side of Margao railway station waterlogged, where people had gathered to witness the flagging of the Vande Bharat Express. We need to understand that we have to find ways to tackle the issue of flooding, whether it is in Goa or Mumbai or wherever. We must thank God for the rains though, it's upto us how we take it in.
