It is really shocking to see that our Goa forests, comunidade lands, Mhadei wildlife sanctuary and hillocks were on fire recently. The hillocks where the cashew plantations are grown were burning among other crops too. Around 178 calls were received by the Fire services department only of dry grass fire. It is something strange and suspicious and looks like this fire at various locations in Goa has been ignited by unknown persons to create tension. It looks fishy and all eyes turn toward the real estate mafias who are eyeing Goa's cultivated and comunidade lands. It is a big loss for our environment where wild animals, birds, reptiles are killed and the cashew plantations of the Goan farmers are destroyed. This is a cashew season time in Goa where the local drink from cashew apple is made known as urrak and feni. I request our Goa government, the Chief Minister, Minister of environment and forests to look into this matter and resolve the issue as soon as possible. Helicopter and other emergency rescue vehicles and teams should respond quickly to save our environment.
