It has come to light that the Church of England is contemplating how to refer to God without assigning a gender. We all agree that God is pure spirit, above all gender, without a name, but, whether it is the Church of England or the Roman Catholic church, it is important to bear in mind, that as Christians, we are all baptised in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy spirit.
In no way therefore can we detract from the fundamental doctrine of the Holy Trinity, on which rests the faith of all Christians. God as Father is used to signify the Creator, the origin of everything.
Besides the 'Our Father' prayer, taught to us by Jesus, all His earthly works were done in the name of His Father in heaven. The Christian God will therefore continue to remain as a personal God who we address as our Father, and not as an abstract entity.
