From cash for votes, Goans have invited upon themselves the ‘cash for politicians’. When we see how the sitting Congress MLA from Curtorim Aleixo Reginaldo Lourenco first negotiates power for himself with the Congress, next meets up with AAP Central leaders, then with the BJP Central leaders at midnight and finally throws his hat with the TMC, one must wonder: what was he selling? His seat winnability? Why did TMC immediately declare that they now have ‘earned’ credibility in Goa! Voters need to know the difference between earned and bought.
When this IPAC team left the BJP, were there any differences between the 2? No. Did the BJP get a new replacement IPAC team? No. Why would they let them go, then? Yes, the BJP and the TMC have struck a deal to ensure there are only 2 national parties and the Congress must not be one. Politics in Goa has taken a sinister turn. The decisions Goan voters take today will result in huge costs in the future for the entire nation. Goans should now jump from being used and abused to deciding national politics! An opportunity, if lost, would destroy Goa.
