Goans do not want Sunburn to be held in State

The organiser of Sunburn bid farewell to North Goa last year but plans to move the festival to South Goa. The Tourism Minister, CM Sawant, and other MLAs, ministers, and government departments benefit financially, so they support it. However, we, the people of Goa, oppose Sunburn in both North and South. The festival harms our peaceful environment and offers no benefit to Goans.

Tourists get drunk, sleep on beaches and streets, and drug overdoses and pickpocketing increase crime rates. This year, during St. Francis Xavier’s exposition, the government plans to allow Sunburn from 28th to 30th December. Why invite the Pope to Goa? The police in Goa will face challenges ensuring public safety. It seems the BJP government in Goa seeks revenge for losing the Lok Sabha election in South Goa and aims to encourage drug use among young people in South Goa.
