The employees attached to the Balrath were striking for two days during the assembly session also got support from MLAs across party lines as it was a sensitive issue because of small children travelling in the buses and in this two days there were lot of difficulties the students faced reaching schools.
So the government came with a solution of raising the salaries as per their satisfaction after talks with the concerned union but their job security is at sake and the government needs to look into it or ask the management to regularize their jobs and government should allot funds to the management for their salaries.
Another issue is that some Balrath buses which I have seen are in a pathetic condition and seems like there is absolutely no maintainance done on regular basis may be due to lack of funds. The question arises are the children safe while traveling on these Balrath buses?
A detailed enquiry should be conducted by the government and scrap those buses which are in bad state which cannot be repaired or are beyond repair. I wonder if the government is waiting for a tragedy to happen to replace the buses as it happens in road accidents when there are lives lost on the roads and then the government wakes up from deep slumber and installs speed breakers. A precious life lost cannot be compensated for by the government hence prevention is better than cure.
