Goan vendors with small stalls along the Bambolim road at GMC were evacuated by authorities and promised to be relocated in a few months.
These vendors were assured immediate relocation but authorities failed to keep to their commitment and hence they had to resort to all types of protest so that the government could listen to them.
The authorities and local bodies are the main cause of such illegal business establishments in the State, encroachments on all govt land and (PWD) roads even on private space that was left for setback gets encroached.
The government needs to identify such illegal business establishments and provide a solution. It should start purchasing land instead of investing in white elephants projects or over estimating tender costs for self gain.
Day light looting is taking place on the public exchequers money but the government still lives in denial that there is zero corruption and good governance.
The Government needs to think twice on the issue of land conversions that is blatantly happening at TCP and local bodies; the Regional Plan which has come to its end has not been re-visited.
We need drastic changes and to ensure this only one new party with fresh faces needs to be voted to power for the better of Goa.
