The intensity of conflict in Manipur is difficult to digest and no permanent solution to the problem seems to be coming from the government at the Centre and the State but the situation in Manipur looks really grim as more and more lives and property are destroyed, making the people of Manipur homeless due to clashes between Kuki and Meitei groups. This can be gauged from a horrid tragedy that befell a seven-year-old Kuki boy who was grievously injured in a crossfire. When the boy was taken to the hospital in an ambulance, accompanied by his mother and a relative, the opposite faction apparently attacked the vehicle and burnt it down. The police watched helplessly. This sort of horrific incident I thought happens only in strife-torn countries like Sudan or Uganda and Congo. Hope the Modi government takes cognizance of these type of incidents and tries to bring the groups for a dialogue and solve the problem and bring peace and tranquility in burning Manipur.
