For years now the Railways double tracking has been in the News which is strongly suspected for coal transportation! People's houses, health, peace of mind is at severe threat, and it is distressing to see particularly elderly people coming out to protest e.g. at Velsao village. Politicians who earlier were supporting the just cause with all valid points suddenly have gone quiet as soon as they jumped to the ruling party or given plum posts including Reginald Lourenco, Digambar Kamat, Aleixo Sequeira, etc. Most Goans seem to have their heads like "ostriches in the sand" ignoring the govt harassment and allowing illegal works by RVNL/Railways via stepwise targeting to favour the coal lobby e.g. now Loutolim, Bhoma villages etc. Overseas Goan organizations are busy organizing dances/shows under the Goa banner and many of their leaders are even cozying up to ruling Goan politicians (with no attempts whatsoever to speak up for issues in Goa). Locally Goans keep on voting for the tainted politicians. In general, I think most Goans seem to have lost their conscience and all their religious activities are just a big hypocrisy.
