Goa is going to implement New Education Policy from July 3 and all the preparations are in pipeline to introduce the same. As per NEP by Ministry of Human resource department the new structure will be 5+3+3+4 pattern replacing 10+2 pattern. First 5 years will be foundation stage and first 3 years preparatory stage and middle stage 2years. 3 yrs will be primary and rest 3 yrs will be secondary level . Last 4 yrs will include graduation and post graduation, research . As per the NEP there will be no exams at first 5 yrs but student or child will be assessed on continuous evaluation based on activities related to academics. The NEP also focuses on no books at primary level and education fully based on observations and understanding of the child. As per the policy the primary education will be in mother tongue but no child will be forced on language. The new education policy focuses on quality product and not a factory product. Hope the new system improves the quality and students learn in better way then in old system of education .
