The power centres in New Delhi are today displacing and exhibiting a new Lutyens class dividing India at multiple levels to impose its agenda, ideology and culture of ramped up dreamy vision of glorious past and new unipolar aggressive nation.
It is destroying our unity in diversity labelling others with many derogatory terms like ‘tukde tukde gang’, and propagates strangely ‘sabka saath sabka vikas’ etc whilst doing just the opposite!
Having a majority in Parliament, bulldozing laws, appealing to nationalistic jargon with religious fervour, capturing all the institutions, they appear far removed from the travails of the poor and middle class.
A tragic example is the farmers’ revolt against the three laws quickly passed causing so many avoidable deaths, turmoil, misery etc.
Infiltration and politicisation of this massive peaceful apolitical dissent leading to the Republic Day violence temporarily set back to this juggernaut of taming any protests with brute force! The government with unlimited resources is unlikely to give in to the farmers. Jai Jawan Jai Kissan is being overshadowed by Jai Shri Ram, not in reverence and benevolence but in intimidation and belligerence.
Democracy and the idea of India as laid down by we the people in our vibrant Constitution is at stake.
