This refers to 'India 3rd largest digitalised country among G20 nations' (TGE, Feb 17). India being the third largest digitalised country among G20 nations might sound like some great news. Yes, one must feel proud of this status, this position. However, we need to look at the ground reality.
What is the quality of digitisation in the country? Do we have efficient infrastructure to cater to the growing needs of digitisation? Even in cities, one would find network issues, call drops, etc, let alone in rural areas. The ranking does not seem to have much value. It is the quality that matters. And of course, we must strive to move up the ladder on other parameters as well.
