A road in Golotem, Saligao was finally named as ‘C Alvares Marg’ after the legendary Konkani tiatr stalwart, late C Alvares on the occasion of his 24th death anniversary right next to his ancestral home in the village in presence of some of his very close family members, Saligao MLA Kedar Naik, Calangute MLA Michael Lobo, Saligao Sarpanch Lucas Remedios and Saligao ward members to give tribute to this famous late Tiatrist from the same village.
Well, all this is fine but what about the condition of the same named road at Golotem, Saligao and which is currently in complete bad shape since the last so many years? Now is this the way to give tribute to C Alvares by simply standing for a special photo session to seek self-publicity for a few minutes and keeping this particular busy small road at Golotem, next to his ancestral home fully neglected for years in Saligao?
Anyway, I would like to congratulate the family members of C Alvares for somehow putting in a lot of efforts to get the necessary permissions from the Saligao Panchayat and for finally getting the said road successfully named after the legendary Konkani stalwart.
