Introduce more trains to Vailankanni

The Valankanni Feast will be celebrated from August 29 to September 8, drawing many Goan devotees to the Our Lady of Good Health Church in Tamil Nadu.

Currently, there is only one weekly train from Vasco da Gama to Valankanni, Train No. 17315, which runs on Mondays and takes nearly 27 hours to reach its destination. It returns from Valankanni to Goa on Tuesdays. This single train is insufficient to meet the high demand during the feast season.

To accommodate the large number of pilgrims, South Western Railway should introduce additional trains or special services during this period. More trains will ensure safer, more convenient travel for devotees and help manage the rush.

Additionally, advance bookings should open at least 60 days before the journey to help devotees plan their trips.

Swift action is essential so that the public can receive timely updates and make necessary travel arrangements for this important religious event.
