Keri drowning case an eye opener

The tragic drowning of two children from Keri, Ponda has left the entire village shocked with the parents yet to come to term over losing their kids.

The incident came to light after their father began a search for his children as they had not yet returned from their grandmothers place where they had gone.

Their bodies were later found in tank in the vicinity that was built by the family to irrigate their areca nut plantation.

This brings to fore the carelessness of one and all who build such tanks. These tanks need to have some sort of barricade or protection so that these types of incidents do not occur. Some sort of metal or plastic covering could also be used so that even animals can be protected from an accidental fall.

It would be in the fitness of things if the local authorities carry out inspection of such tanks in the villages and penalise the owners if there is no protection or a barricade.
