Life miserable for locals as tourism peaks

In the run up to the end of the old year and turning on the new, Goa never ceases to be a partying destination. In the fag-end of this year there has been an influx of domestic as well as foreign tourists making a bee line for the state. Being the smallest state in the union, the infrastructure seems to be wanting and yearning for more development all the time. The Candolim, Calangute and Anjuna, Vagator coastal belts are currently witnessing an abundance  of tourists, jamming the small road network with bumper to bumper snarls of vehicular traffic, even choking these coastal villages further. Parking spaces are limited and totally occupied at all times, making life miserable for the locals. Loud music has had its way of disturbing the peace and tranquility of the entire coastal stretch, reverberating from dusk to dawn, by party goers during Christmas and New Year festivities.  The underbelly of sex, drugs should not be allowed to flourish and must be totally curbed by men in uniform. Meanwhile partying, picnicking, shopping, trade and commerce, cuisine, music, sightseeing, watersports, activities will continue to rock the state well into the New Year.
