Monsoon charms and man-made eyesores

With the onset of the monsoons, there is lush greenery everywhere and the landscape is blanketed with wide variety of plants and flowers, a truly beautiful sight to behold. However, this sight is disturbed by flooding and sewage spillages dotting the urban and rural areas.

Rapid urbanization has brought in a host of maladies like improper storm water drains, sewage spillages, with possible fresh water adulteration and other modern ills affecting the city inhabitants. Fragile dilapidated infrastructures need to be spruced up with timely works executed spot on to alleviate perceivable troubles early on.

Monsoon woes are abundant and taking a toll on the well-being of the citizens wherein healthcare facilities have to be upgraded.

It is learnt that Goa is perhaps the only state in the country that is persisting with an ‘Electricity Department’ while most other states in the country have switched over to either ‘Electricity Board’ or ‘Electricity Corporation’.
