Nothing wrong in dynastic rule in politics

Since decades there has been immense hullaballoo concerning dynastic rule in politics in India. This issue has existed and could continue to do so in the coming years too, whether in national or regional political parties.

Most political parties in India are guilty of this ‘crime’ by getting a member of their family elected as a panch, sarpanch, corporator, an MLC, MLA, MP etc.

There are also instances when family members have ended up in opposite political camps! These are all signs of a healthy and vibrant democracy.

A doctor, engineer, businessman, etc. would be keen that his/her son or daughter follow the family profession and take care of the dispensary, hospital, factory and so forth.

But we do not avoid going to a hospital or buy a product just because it is run by a family. Why cannot politicians also be ambitious for their family as any of us?

There is nothing wrong if politicians wish that their children/spouse join politics and this is not against the laws of the land. Sometimes an offspring performs much better or is less corrupt than the parents.

Of course, if you are against the so-called ‘dynastic rule’ then show them the power of your finger on the day of polling.
