Officials at Goa border flouting Covid rules

One of the passengers travelling by bus from Mumbai to Goa related a shocking incident to the press about the experience at the Patradevi border where the driver of the bus told the passengers to give Rs 100 if they don't want to go for Covid-19 check if they don't have a negative certificate or certificate of both Covid-19 vaccine doses taken, which is mandatory to enter Goa as per the SOP of the government of Goa.

This clearly shows that government officials manning the borders are not serious and are flouting the protocol set by the State government and are making a serious lapse. This may be due to inadequate manpower but if so it has to be corrected immediately by the government before the situation goes out of control like during the first and second pandemic waves.

I hope the Goa government is serious enough and will act against the erring officials who are demanding bribes from passengers who don't have negative certificate and are allowing them to enter Goa thus putting at risk the whole Goan population.
