Kadamba bus transport is a state owned transport in Goa and bus stand in Panaji, the capital city cries for attention. The bus stand operates both Kadamba buses and private buses including inter-city transport. The bus stand also has a wing which plies buses to Maharashtra and Karnataka states. However the condition of bus stand is pathetic . Smart City Panaji should have first renovated bus stand which is visible everyday to locals and tourists. Recently two MLA s complained about traffic police tarnishing image of state by giving challan to other state registered vehicles and tourists coming to Goa. If that can tarnish image of Goa the condition of roads at KTC exit point and inside bus stand can also do the same. The current assembly session of monsoon period is discussing on all points except for bus stand as it is used by public and voters and their hardship is not accounted for and same is not used my elected MLAs and panchayat members hence there is no problem. The state government needs to be sensitive to issues faced by general public. Goa is known to receive rainfall from June to September but no actions or plans to clean nullahs, roadside drainages, renovate roads having potholes, etc. Kadamba bus stand is facing parking issues and buses are parked in haphazard manner leaving no space for smooth flow of buses from inside to exit point. There is no proper parking lot and hence the buses cannot come out or enter bus stand without hurdles. It's need of hour to give bus stand a better look and facilities which will help citizens to travel.
