Almost two years back the CM was congratulated on Goa being Open Defecation Free, and now reportedly he has asserted that there are no dance bars operating in the state. From experience, people will not rely on witness/police protection in Goa's coastal areas. They have been complaining about this and also blaring sound at all night parties in vain for so long and even after the High Court orders, implementation is reportedly unsatisfactory in some places. Touts and beggars are another problem. They are citizens of India and merely arrest under the beggary or other acts, warning and then releasing them is no solution. Also in the interest of security suggest the Provedoria and police get together, round them up and give humanitarian assistance where required and firm action to deport others to their home states to permanently get them off the beaches and streets. Police have to gain the confidence of the people by preventive action! We have to acknowledge the truth especially when it stares us in the face and act with humanity and compassion.
