The Supreme Court ruled that politics should be kept out of faith regarding the Tirupati laddu controversy, stating there was no proof that adulterated ghee was used. The ghee tested was rejected by the temple committee, and no laddu sample was examined. The unsigned lab report had no seal, did not mention animal fat, and stated the tested ghee wasn’t used for laddus.
The court criticised CM Chandra Babu Naidu for making inflammatory statements when the issue was under investigation. Testing in Gujarat, despite Hyderabad’s world-class lab, was also questioned. Many believe Naidu’s accusations were politically motivated to harm YSRCP. Despite the controversy, 1.4 million laddus were sold, and the plan backfired on BJP and its ally.
