At dawn on Monday, the Mapusa arishioners, neighbouring villages and people from all walks of life will celebrate the feast of Our Lady of Milagres at St Jerome Church, Mapusa with great pomp and fervor.
Unfortunately, probably for the first time in State’s history, the area around the church has been left in a mess. This makes it difficult to approach the church. Earlier, the local MLA had said that the roads next to the church will be hotmixed after December 2022, but it was done only in patches.
As the great feast falls in the Mapusa constituency, it would have been nice to see the MLA make an effort to improve the area around the church, but maybe it wasn’t a big priority.
