Recruit and train youngsters as guides for events

It is reported that during the ongoing Goa Assembly session an MLA raised the issue of professors from Goa University being deputed as liaison officers during the G20, National Games and India Energy Week. It does not behoove their position to act as tour guides to government guests. The protocol and tourism departments in collaboration could recruit youngsters, pay a stipend and train them for a month in official procedures, code of behaviour, etiquettes, how to receive and treat guests, take them to tourist spots and explain the importance and other tasks.

After the training the recruits could be paid a lumpsum amount per month and sign a bond period for one year since the government would be spending for their training. This way the government could free the teaching staff from unwanted duties and create jobs for enthusiastic youngsters. Since official functions have become a dime a dozen in Goa, there would no dearth of work.
