With the Corporation of the City of Panaji (CCP) and the neighboring panchayats having passed unanimous resolutions urging the Goa Government to expeditiously set up a fully fledged Heath Centre at the Old Ribandar Hospital, the only Panchayat that remains is Corlim and Sarpanch Chandrasekhar Kankonkar has informed that the resolution will be passed at their meeting on November 28.
As our MLA Babush Moserrate has been out of station, we hope to meet up him this week to be updated on the progress of the Health Centre project and to share with him some of our views and ideas on the issue. We have to aim to ensure that the Ribandar Health Centre is Goa’s best providing the finest medical care while punctuality, cleanliness and absolute hygiene being the focus.
Since the Old Ribandar Hospital is a heritage building I have requested the very proactive Principal of Goa College of Architecture Dr Ashish Rege and his expert faculty to guide on how best the conservation of this heritage building being Asia’s first medical school established on 13th December 1867 can be ensured. Their ideas and expertise in the field would go a long way.
