This summer is very intense. Mercury has reached 45 degrees Celsius in Vidarbha and Marathwada areas of Maharashtra. The heat wave will continue for the next two days. There are reports of the temperature reaching 46 to 47 degrees in some places in Rajasthan. AC facility is available in many big companies. But in a small factory, one has to work only on fans. Heat affects the agriculture, construction, transport and mining industry. In many places, road works have been started at night. Barely 20 per cent of people in the country have AC or have the facility of air cooler. Others seek the shade of a tree somewhere or sleep outdoors at night. Dense bushes provide better cooling than AC. Stomach disorders occur due to food contamination due to hot summer. Scarcity of water can also lead to outbreak of infectious diseases. The solution is to plant 200 crore trees. Even if every person in India plants one tree, we can reach 140 crores. Rest of the trees should be planted by other companies and subsidized organizations. This will make the country greener and the effects of heat will be reduced.
