Shacks are a nuisance along Calangute beach

Shacks have created a mess along the Baga-Calangute stretch. The Tourism Minister must think well before passing the new policy. Currently, hundreds of shacks dot the entire coastline. They have gobbled up nearly the entire beach stretch leaving just small strips for people to walk. There is no proper entry into Baga beach. It's all lined up with shops. All sorts of nuisance goes on there. One can never even walk peacefully due to the loud and jarring music played by the shacks. Empty beer bottles are still seen strewn on beaches. Responsibility for all this must be put on to the shack owners as they are responsible for serving alcohol. Also, the number of shacks must be reduced. Better to have a few keeping gaps in between. Hawkers must be removed near the mouth of the beaches. They are adding to the chaos and traffic jams. Tourism Minister Rohan Khaunte must take all this into consideration and not focus only on the revenue being collected. Good tourists will never come looking at the present state of affairs.
