Goa has become state of crimes with many cases of murder taking place. Just 2 days back Haryana women's leader of BJP and actress Sonali Phogat died due to spiked drink by her own colleagues. After teenager Scarlet Keeling's drug and murder case in 2008 at Anjuna beach, Goa is in limelight again due to above incident. Sonali Phogat was brought by her friends Sudhir and Sukhwinder on the pretext of having shoot in Goa. Now that IGP Mr Omvir Singh and Anjuna police are investigating the case two suspects have confessed of giving her drink with chemicals. Initially Goa police was reluctant to file FIR and was waiting for postmortem report but due to brothers' intervention the case saw U-turn with heart attack being ruled out. Goa being tourist spot many tourists come here for relaxation and holidays. Goa has become destination wedding state but on other hand there are incidents which sully Goa's image. There needs to be security in every hotel and clubs with CCTV cameras and police for law and order situation. It was due to CCTV camera footage the Goa police could track the case and come with evidence to prove the cause of death of Sonali Phogat. Goa needs to be careful in handling tourists as more and more incidents are happening in the State.
