Stop providing staff to retired govt personnel

As per a news report the recently retired Chief Justice of India (CJI) has allegedly retained 28 of his previous 40 employees. It seems that retired CJIs can have up to 3 employees.

One fails to see the reason for this necessity. When government employees get only pension then how is that some are entitled to certain perks? In what way would ex-CJI use the employees (whatever be their numbers) and why is the government paying their salaries, which could be in lakhs of rupees per month?

Retired judges who are Chairpersons of enquiry committees may be provided with staff but not to those who have no link with government work.

Permitting limited staff to selected retired Directors, Chairpersons etc. of defense and scientific institutions could pay dividends as these persons would publish and patent and supervise the progress of science and technology in the country.

Hope that the governments take a call and stop providing staff to retired employees, however high they were in the hierarchy during their working years.
