Two constables who were performing 'nakabandi' duty at Seraulim junction were killed in a tragic accident when our very own "well-to-do" fully drunk "Goenkaar" recklessly rammed his car into their police checkpost recently.
The Colva Police have now registered a case against the said 'Goenkaar' under Sections 279 and 304-A of Indian Penal Code and have also arrested him for driving his vehicle in a most negligent manner and for causing the death of the two constables at Seraulim junction.
Well, it's an open secret that today most of the road accidents are caused due to the negligence and drinking habits of some of our own easy going Goenkaars as they think that it's their fundamental birth right to consume unlimited booze.
l think that if we really want to stop innocents from dying in road accidents in the near future then we Goans need to educate our own selves first and stop this madness of rashly/recklessly driving our two/four wheeler vehicles under the influence of liquor in Goa. The cops from the traffic cell too should henceforth be very strict and punish all those who are found indulging in drunken driving in Goa.
