The members in the assembly raised the issue of stray dogs and the onus falls on the implementation of these schemes by the local bodies or NGOs. While the scheme was notified many years back as always is the issue there is no assurance of land or funds to the local bodies. What the MLAs left out is the very important point for discussion is the registration of all pet animals with the local body and all stray dogs sterilized and vaccinated or treated for rabies should be tagged to track the count and location of the animals which should also include the stray cattle that are the cause of many accidents and deaths of the animals and humans. Will the Panchayat Minister consider all this as he stood to say that where is the land for all this? Our TCP Minister can help in the land acquisition and many of the elected MLAs who can purchase lands for this yeomen service would be blessed for their gesture to save animals.
