The open area near SGPDA Market was used for parking buses and also for putting stalls in the fair during the Feast of Holy Spirit. It was very convenient for the fair as it did not affect traffic in that period. The area could have been developed for better use instead of being converted into a dumping ground for fallen tree branches and eventually will be a fully mini Sonsodo right in the heart of the city. On the other two sides, fish waste dumps with thermocol boxes have encroached nearby fields. It appears city fathers are overlooking the issue and local MLA is busy in exhibiting his oratory skills and inspection stunts to put blame on others. This will have an impact on the environment and create health hazards to nearby locals and those visiting the market if the situation is left uncontrolled. It is hoped Margao MLA who is known for doing works silently, will now step in and show his leadership to make dump free area around SGPDA market, may be if required with assistance of concerned Minister/CM.
