With reference to the news report “Cabral hits out at Lobo for comments on BJP” (The Goan Everyday March 6, 2022).
Politics is an interesting game. There are neither permanent friends nor enemies in politics. Every action is aimed at securing power and further consolidating hold on power. Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party’s Chief Sudin Dhavalilkar is known for making controversial statements and denying them later on as per his whims and fancies.
He may have praised the chief ministerial qualities in the two of Goa BJP’s ministers in Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant’s cabinet from which Sudin Dhavalilkar was dropped unceremoniously.
These two ministers, namely Cabral and Rane should not get carried away and start handing out thank you notes to Sudin in public forum. Sudin is playing a clever game. He is trying to engineer a rift amongst Goa BJP leaders.
Dr Pramod Sawant must be fuming at this naked lust for chief minister’s post on display by his Cabinet colleagues. He must be itching to type out this tweet, “Those who were dropped from my Cabinet in the dead of the night are busy promoting chief ministers. This type of sucking up to will only strengthen my resolve not to relinquish the post of chief minister and keep working towards side-lining such negative elements and loud mouths. March 10 will decide. I have full faith in people of Goa.”
