The Monserrates will meet their Waterloo

Come February 14, the people of Taleigao and Panaji are all geared up for a silent revolution to end the misrule of the Monserrates. Elvis Gomes in Panaji and Tony Rodrigues in Taleigao will restore sanity and bring in good governance. Chief Minister Pramod Sawant in April 2019 had publicly cautioned us by saying “Babush Monserrate is facing rape charges and if a rapist becomes your MLA, the ladies and girls would be so very unsafe”.

The long arm of the law is waiting to catch up with the Monserrates in the Panjim police Station attack case.

Cash for votes: CEC needs to be vigilant

The recent seizure of liquor, cash and drugs is alarming’. How do we ensure digital transfer of cash is not being used? The CEC must check transactions from google pay and other apps on the voting day. There is every possibility this is happening. The money may not be transferred directly to the voters but to the distributors. Likewise, free stays at hotels, restaurants, etc can all serve as cash for votes. The CEC must come out with a blanket ban on all such freebies.
