They are public servants but behave like masters

I am writing to express my deep concern about the poor experience in administration, highlighted by the article about an 80-year-old Goan stuck in a decade-long land mutation ordeal in Mapusa. As a resident, I have had similar experiences with government offices. Despite following the process, I have had to revisit offices multiple times due to unclear instructions or incomplete information from staff. They often fail to provide clear guidance or provide it in bits and pieces. Punctuality also is a rarity, and waiting for hours is common. The staff are called public servants, but they treat us like servants. It's appalling that they aren't held accountable for their behaviour. Secondly, If the administrative staff follow processes diligently, then why aren't strict actions taken against violations and illegal constructions? Personally, I've faced apathy in administration. A complaint against an illegal construction took 1.5 years to get a demolition notice, and it's been another 1.5 years with no action. We need systemic changes to improve accountability, transparency, and responsiveness in administration.
