The government has accomplished a splendid task by constructing a highway from Panaji to Margao, connecting it with Manohar Setu, with the aim of facilitating travel and reducing travel time to just half an hour. The intention was to cover the distance without any hassles.
However, the journey is marred by two traffic blocks, one at Airport Road and the other at Verna Industrial Junction, both of which are just a hundred meters away. The pleasure of a shorter journey is brought back to square one due to these obstacles. Besides this congestion, there are no hurdles along the entire route. It seems that no thought has been given to these two crucial locations, which have become a headache for daily commuters.
What is even more surprising is that, apart from ministers who receive priority, other MLAs, elected representatives, or even NGOs taking to the streets for various causes have completely overlooked this issue. Will the concerned minister and officials wake up and take the initiative to permanently eliminate these obstacles, allowing for a seamless journey with the least travel time?
