Treat drunken drivers on par with murderers

There were two recent accidents one at Chicalim and the other at Ribandar where Reema Gonsalves and Kaushal Bandodkar lost their precious lives due to drunken driving. Records reveal these fatal mishaps reported in October this year have doubled from those reported last year, not only of drunken driving but also of underage drivers. As per law there are provisions to fine and imprison owners of the vehicle and parents of the minors for a period of three years if minor is found driving but is the law truly enforced by the police?  If the law was strictly enforced by the law enforcing agencies then there would been fear in the mind of minors to drive the vehicle without any valid licence. A new law should be enacted by the government treating drunken drivers on par with murderers or else we will be losing innocent lives everyday due to drunken driving. If any minor is found involved in any such fatal death, he or she should be debarred from holding a driving licence for life. Hence the government needs to enact such a law to act as a deterrent for minors.
