Treat drunken driving on par with murder

There were two accidents few years back one at Chicalim and the other at Ribandar where Reema Gonsalves and Kaushal Bandodkar lost their precious lives and big loss to their families due to drunken driving and now the recent tragic accident at Banastarim where three people lost their precious lives and a great personal loss to the families of the deceased where children of the couple from Divar were rendered orphans due to drunken driving by the driver of Mercedes car. According to an eyewitness, a woman was at the steering and should be dealt with strictly as per the law of the land. Records reveal that these fatal mishaps reported have doubled from previous years not only drunken driving but also underage drivers causing fatal accidents. A new law needs to be enacted by the government for treating the drunken driver and parents of the minors causing death of innocents on the roads due to their negligence on par with murderers. Hope the government and the law enforcing agencies take immediate action to protect the citizens from losing their lives due to sheer negligence of some drivers.
