At Raebareli, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav on Tuesday promised to the poor a kilo of ghee with free ration for five years if his party comes to power Uttar Pradesh polls while claiming that BJP supporters have become "numb" after the first two phases of voting. He also promised mustard oil as well as two cylinders a year. Yadav also alleged the BJP government was all set to discontinue its own free-ration scheme but deferred it because of the elections. He also said the quality of ration being distributed by the BJP government was bad and there were also reports of glass particles found in the salt and asked whether the salt was coming from Gujrat. Attacking the state government, he alleged law and order situation under the BJP government has collapsed and that corruption had doubled in this double engine government. On other hand, BJP leader Amit Shah addressing a public rally at Dibiyapur, Uttar Pradesh said that if his party was re-elected to power, farmers in Uttar Pradesh will not have to pay electricity bills for the next five years. Shah said Holi is on 18th March and counting is on March 10. Bring the BJP government to power on 10 and free gas cylinders will reach your house on March 18 he promised, adding that the Samajwadi Party has been wiped out from the state after two phases. The fact is that both the parties ate only seeing their own advantage, while the poor people are getting crushed between them.
