It is shocking to hear that in Matvem, Dabolim the water in a well was found to be contaminated with petroleum products. It was surprising to see that the water caught fire when it was checked on the site where the fire and emergency services along with the collector and other authorities had to seal the well. The leakage is due to multi petroleum pipelines passing over the hillock in the village from the storage facilities tanks. A similar incident had occurred years ago where a well was abaze and more such accidents have happened in Vasco too. The water bodies are getting affected due to poor maintenance work for the safety of public. The disaster management must trace the source of the contamination with petroleum products where the exact leak is from with the company's support. The people staying there know the truth and how they are struggling with these problems. Requesting our Chief Minister Pramod Sawant to take action as soon as possible before it goes out of control where any blast will destroy the health, safety and surrounding environment.
