Panjimites knows that heavy work opposite Lal Bhavan is going on for a few months now especially near a prayer site where group of people come to pray daily. Earlier the Campal and Panjim residents were wondering how the number of electrical and other cables belonging to various government departments will get them streamlined in a proper direction without cutting the road again if any fault occurs after the moonson.
All these days I was wandering how the huge 10 cm diameter pipeline which is planned to carry water from St Inez and Caranzalem will end to river Mandovi? I have seen that this pipe has ended near the Bal Bhavan premises where their outlet is also meeting at the same place. I have questioned those supervisors and a engineer about the outlet of water whether it will be sent to Mandovi river or a drainage gutter. The answer was let the concerned authorities gives us another work order and then we will know the routing.
This contract appears to be just to close our mouth. This work is just opposite the prayer temple as the road is in front of the temple and it is well done with beautiful bricks and looks professional.
My worry is for two things, one is these massive cabling work might face trouble when the monsoon starts and second worry is what kind of water whether storm water or mixed water with sewage will pass through this 10 cm diameter pipe? Panjimites need to wait until the end of next monsoon and watch.
