Activist Dr Inacio Fernandes was seen openly assaulted and abused in a live recorded video at the Anjuna gram sabha meeting in the presence of men-in-uniform and panchayat members by one politically-connected goon from the same area for advocating a resolution against mega events in Anjuna village. Of course, the said goon was later heard giving his own justifications saying that before the start of the meeting, the doctor had physically attacked him and which I feel is a big lie. Otherwise, why is there no single recorded video available with any of the local news channels in the state of the same? The most shocking part is that the government has still not bothered to instruct the Goa Police to arrest the said goon despite having all the proof and for daringly assaulting Dr Inacio at the above gram sabha meeting at Anjuna. Or does the government want this trend of assaulting people who are found raising their voice against all types of filthy activities in villages to spread in other panchayats as well during gram sabha meetings in future? The government definitely owes an explanation to the people.
